Van Gent Steel was created in 1997 by Charles Van Gent. After many years of working and acquiring experience in steel fabrication specifically catering to the dairy industry, Charles was offered an opportunity to start his own business.

Van Gent Steel quickly became a trusted name in the dairy industry. Acquiring an agency for the New Zealand company Milka-ware, through which Van Gent Steel then sourced, installed, and maintained the Milka-ware milking machines.

His knowledge of cow flow and first-hand experience with cows made him an expert at building kraals, and as demand increased for his steelwork, the decision was made to change focus and specialize in what he does best, steel fabrication.

After 6 years of working in all lines of the dairy industry, I joined the team in 2015, and in 2018, after increasing requests from our clients for structural steel fabrication, we had to expand our team once again. With the addition of extra expertise to support the design, fabrication, and erection of our steel structures, our team now has the full complement of knowledge, experience, and expertise to assist you with all your steel fabrication needs.
